Wild Willy's Hot Springs (Crowley Hot Spring)
Undeveloped hot pools on BLM land in Long Valley, reached by a dirt road off Benton Crossing Road and a short boardwalk walk from the parking area. The BLM and Mono County maintain and rerouted the access road, which the BLM says carries more than 500 vehicles on busy days. Mono County notes that natural pools like this are not maintained and asks visitors to pack out what they bring.

Mono Hot Springs Resort
A seasonal High Sierra resort on the South Fork San Joaquin River, reached over the narrow Kaiser Pass Road, with soaks in private bathhouse rooms and an outdoor mineral spa at about 100-104°F. Day bathhouse passes are $25 for adults, and stays in the stone, rustic and tent cabins include bathhouse use. The 2026 season ran May 22 to October 26.

Benton Hot Springs (The Inn at Benton Hot Springs)
A historic ranch and inn in the old mining town of Benton, where spring water rising at about 140°F feeds private hot tubs at numbered campsites, Inn tubs and rental houses. Every tub is booked overnight; the inn offers no day use or hourly rentals. Tub sites take tents or RVs without hookups, and clothing is optional at the sites with discretion required.

Muir Trail Ranch
A remote guest ranch in the John Muir Wilderness, reached by ferry across Florence Lake and a hike of about 5 miles, whose stays include use of its hot springs baths. Short stays include meals and run about $250-$285 per person per night. Accommodations closed for the season after September 7, 2026, and bookings are closed until 2027.
Keough's Hot Springs
A pool resort south of Bishop, open since 1919, where spring water is cooled by a waterfall into a large swimming pool alongside a smaller hot soaking pool. Day entry is $14 for adults. The property also has RV and tent sites and furnished canvas tent cabins, and Inyo County's visitor site notes that swimsuits are required.

Travertine Hot Springs
Hot springs and soaking tubs on BLM land off Jack Sawyer Road just southeast of Bridgeport, managed by the Bishop Field Office. The site has a long history with the region's Native people, and BLM has closed it to all public access for Tribal ceremonial use (Oct 30-Nov 6, 2024). BLM's closure map shows a gated access road, a parking lot and a trail to the tubs.
Buckeye Hot Springs
Undeveloped pools beside Buckeye Creek in the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, about 10 miles from Bridgeport and just east of Buckeye Campground. The Forest Service says the 140°F spring spills over a rock overhang into a cave-like pool, with a smaller spring upstream. A 2022 project added a vault toilet, a formal parking area, a single trail to the pools and interpretive signs.
Fish Lake Valley Hot Springs (Hot Well)
A free hot well managed by Esmeralda County in Fish Lake Valley, about 20 minutes from Dyer on a county dirt road. A large below-ground concrete tub holds water around 105°F, and its outflow feeds marshy ponds that draw wildlife. The site has a large parking area, primitive campsites and a vault toilet.

Grover Hot Springs State Park
A California state park 4 miles west of Markleeville with a concrete hot mineral pool fed by six springs and a separate cooler swimming pool, run with a lifeguard on duty. The hot pool is kept at 102-104°F, and pool entry is sold separately from the $8 vehicle day-use fee. The park also has a forested campground, picnic area and trails to a waterfall and Burnside Lake.
Kern Hot Spring
A cement soaking tub a few feet from the Kern River, 36.8 miles from Crescent Meadow on the High Sierra Trail in Sequoia National Park. The spring water is 115F, and the tub's runoff mixes with river water to form a cooler pool. Campers must use the designated sites here, and the park asks for no soap in the tub or river.
Saline Valley Warm Springs
A clothing-optional warm springs area with a primitive campground in a remote valley of Death Valley National Park, about 35 miles from the nearest paved road. Reaching it takes a high-clearance vehicle with all-terrain tires over North Pass (7,300 ft) or South Pass (5,997 ft). The Lower Springs have been closed since a September 2026 wildfire, while camping between Lower and Palm Springs stays open.

David Walley's Resort
A Holiday Inn Club Vacations resort at the foot of the Sierra Nevada, 1.5 miles from Genoa, on a hot springs site developed in the 1860s. Day visitors pay one fee for the mineral spas (98-104°F), a geothermally heated swimming pool, steam rooms and dry saunas. Lodging ranges from studios to three-bedroom cottages, and the 1862 Restaurant & Saloon is on site.
Jordan Hot Springs
Backcountry hot springs in the Golden Trout Wilderness, reached on the Forest Service's Jordan Hot Springs Trail from the Blackrock Trailhead. The trail is used from May to November and is open to hikers and horse riders. Overnight visitors need a Golden Trout Wilderness permit.

Carson Hot Springs
A historic hot springs on the east side of Carson City, run as a resort since the 1880s, with four outdoor pools and hot tubs at 98-104°F and nine private indoor pools. The 121°F mineral water flows through the pools with no chemicals or city water added, and every pool is drained and refilled daily. Admission is sold in 2-hour blocks without reservations, and a restaurant and brewery share the property.
